Description
Ground Beef Stroganoff
Ingredients
- 8 oz wide egg noodles
- 1⁄2 c white onion - chopped
- 2 clv garlic - chopped
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 6 oz fresh mushrooms
- 1⁄2 t fresh ground pepper
- 2 T flour
- 1 1⁄4 c reduced-sodium, fat-free beef broth
- 2 t worcestershire sauce
- 3⁄4 c non-fat sour cream
Instructions
Cook noodles according to package directions.
Coat 12-inch nonstick skillet with cooking spray and preheat over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms, onion and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, for about 7 minutes, or until onion is soft and mushrooms are lightly browned. Transfer mixture to bowl and set aside.
Place beef in skillet, and cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly to crumble, for about 4 minutes, or until no pink remains. Drain off any excess fat.
Stir mushroom mixture into beef. Sprinkle with black pepper and flour, and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
Stir broth into beef and bring to boil. Cook, stirring frequently for 3 to 4 minutes, or until mixture has thickened. Stir in Worcestershire sauce.
Reduce heat to low and when no longer boiling, slowly stir sour cream into mixture. Heat for 1 to 2 minutes or just until hot.
Top noodles with beef Stroganoff mixture. Serve immediately.
