Description
Delicious ziti bathed in sauce and cheese. Delectable!
Ingredients
- 16 oz ziti pasta
- 1 oz large egg
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1⁄2 t Garlic powder
- 1⁄4 c chopped fresh basil (optional)
- 2 c shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 1⁄2 c spaghetti sauce
- 1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
- 1⁄2 c grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Other things you need:
9x13 pan
foil
cooking spray
Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Brown the ground beef. Drain. Prepare pasta according to package directions for "al dente." Drain.
3. In a large bowl, beat egg. Add ricotta cheese, garlic powder, basil, and 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
4. In a small bowl, combine ground beef and spaghetti sauce.
5. Add cooked pasta and 2 cups of the spaghetti sauce to the ricotta cheese mixture.
6. Pour 1 cup of the sauce mixture in a 9x13 pan.
7. Top with the ziti mixture. Top with the remaining sauce. Sprinkle remaining mozzaarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
8. Spray foil with cooking spray. Cover pan with foil and bake 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. (I put the garlic bread in too for this last 10-20 minutes.)
9. Let the baked ziti rest 10 minutes before serving. (I don't think we did this unless the garlic bread wasn't ready. :o)
Notes
Makes great leftovers!
